The following list contains details of the groups organised by the church and other church community activities:

Charity Knitters

Meet fortnightly on Wednesday evenings in the small hall.

In the past year the knitting was mainly for the charity “Haven in Romania”. They produced a large quantity of knitted clothes and blankets for this worthwhile cause.  They also used some of their funds to purchase underwear for the children.

In addition they knitted another blanket for the Women’s Refuge, as well as hats and gloves for the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal.

Uniformed Organisations
Several Brownie, Guide, Cub and Scout Groups are affiliated to the church. Parade Services are held twice a year.

     Church Groups

Ladies wot Lunch

'Ladies wot Lunch' is a group who meet on three or four occasions during the year to enjoy convivial conversation and a nice pub lunch.  Dates are fluid, normally mid- week, and will be advertised through the church.

Men's Breakfast Club

The Gentlemen's Breakfast takes place in the small hall every second month from March to November.  We meet on a Monday morning at 8.30am for about 90 minutes to share food, fellowship and listen to an invited speaker.  Members of the group take it in turns to act as chef.

Flower Guild

Is a group of dedicated ladies who use their skill to arrange fresh flowers for the church weekly.

The flowers are donated by a person or family in memory of a loved one, and arranged by members of the Flower Guild.

They always put on a wonderful display, particularly for the Harvest Festival Service, Easter and Christmas.

Afternoon Tea Club

Afternoon Tea Club began in 2009. The aim was to give church friends an extra opportunity to meet for fellowship in addition to Sunday morning coffee time. Ladies and gentlemen are welcomed around 3 pm in the back hall on a monthly basis to share conversation, tea and cake in a friendly, informal environment. New friends are always welcome. Tea Club dates are available in the Homewood Herald.

Parent and Toddler Group

We run a Parent and Toddler Group on a Thursday morning 10.00-11.30.

End of term parties and other activities are organised which are always very well received.

Please book on the online booking system following the link below.

Homewood Ringers

Meets most Saturdays between 8.30 – 10.30am during term time.

They have played to many audiences at care homes and women’s groups and hope to play in church services from time to time.

Other Church Events

Harvest Supper: family fun which takes a variety of forms such as musical entertainment, Barn Dance or Family Quiz.

Children's Activity Mornings: held in the Church Halls on the Saturday before Christmas and Easter, and on Thursday mornings during the summer school holiday (please see What's On for details).

Organises a variety of social events throughout the year.

Sometimes visits to St Albans Musical Theatre Company are organised, as well as other social events such as Barn Dances and Quizzes.

Sewing Group

Meets from 10:30am on the first Thursday each month in the Upper Room.

Previously they have made a ‘Tree of Life, ‘Noah’s Ark’ collage and an abstract piece entitled ‘The Creation’. At the moment they are working on ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ and ‘The Elements’ (Fire and Water). To see photos of their past work, please go to the Galley section of this website.

Book Club

Meets from time to time to discuss a Christian or spiritual book recommended to the group.

Coffee Club

Meet every six to eight weeks in members’ houses for coffee and fellowship.

Occasionally they organised cake stalls after the Sunday morning service.

Day Centre

Is a social and activity group for elderly people who meet on Wednesdays from 10 am to 2 pm in the Back Hall.

Activities include scrabble, dominoes, card games, quizzes and games involving hand and eye co-ordination as well as exercises to music. About once a month there is a speaker or musical entertainer. Coffee mornings are held twice a year with funds going towards a summer outing and an excellent Christmas lunch.

Zoom House Group

Meets via Zoom at 7pm on Wednesdays to discuss questions raised during the previous Sunday’s service. This group is open to all three Cluster churches.

Homewood /Trinity Strollers:

Country walks of approximately 4 - 5 miles are organised by members of one or other of the churches. These take place in a variety of places around Hertfordshire and usually end with a pub lunch. Once a year an 'Historic London Walk' is organised in June.

Homewood Singers

This singing group meets in the church between 10am and 11.30 usually on the second and fourth Saturday each month. We learn a variety of songs, both secular and religious, serious and fun. We sometimes sing during Morning Worship and have led the evening Carol service and had a Gospel Music evening. People of all ages and musical abilities are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
